Latest News Philippines: Foreign TV show to feature PNP –

DON’T be surprised if you see a group of foreign cameramen riding police cars or tailing cops on duty in Metro Manila starting tomorrow.

A Danish reality television program will feature officers and men of the Philippine National Police in its regular show very soon, officials said yesterday.

According to PNP Director for Police-Community Relations director Lina C. Sarmiento ,  the crew of TV2 Danmark will follow and join police officers for five days doing actual work to capture scenes on how the PNP enforces the law, and maintain peace and order.

Sarmiento said the PNP will be one of the 10 police organizations around the world which will be featured in the “Station 2-Foreign Crime Relations” program of Danish television TV2 Danmark.

The 2-star female police general said the reality TV program aims to show to its international audience the PNP’s daily activities, such as police officers responding to emergency calls and other police operations.

“This featured TV program will showcase our police officers on how they deal in every situation requiring police action or intervention,”  Sarmiento said, adding through the Danish television program, they expect to show genuine service to the people being offered by the 148,000-strong organization.

“Likewise, I am very positive that our cops will perform their best because I believe all our personnel are well-trained and skilled enough to act upon their duties and responsibilities guided by the value instituted by our PNP chief General Alan La Madrid Purisima’s “Serbisyong Makatotohanan” to better serve and protect the community,” she said.
