Latest News Philippines: Typhoon victims in gov’t hospitals to get aid from PCSO – Journal.com.ph:

THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office announced it will provide assistance to  victims of typhoon Maring  who are undergoing medical treatment in government hospitals.

“We assure the victims directly affected by typhoon Maring who are being treated at government hospitals, in coordination with PCSO offices, that their hospitals bills will be shouldered by PCSO,”PCSO chairman Margarita P. Juico said.

PCSO general manager Atty.  Jose Ferdinand M. Rojas II said this was “in line with PCSO’s mandate to extend assistance during times of national calamities.”

He added that in order to implement this, “PCSO branch office heads and personnel are already coordinating with local government hospitals and clinics in areas affected by the storm.”

PCSO is set to distribute Family Emergency Medicine kits and sacks of rice to various evacuation centers.

Juico and Rojas extended their sympathies to the families of the victims and promised the PCSO would continue to provide medical-and healthcare-related assistance and relief in affected areas.
