TAGAYTAY City, Cavite — OUTGOING Tagaytay Mayor Bambol Tolentino who intends to run for congressman in the 7th and last district of the Cavite province is said to be facing the former Congressman  Gilbert Remulla of Cavite.

Gilbert was once the representative of 3rd District. He was defeated by Congressman Pidi Barzaga and lost in the senatorial race last 2010 election under the banner party of Manny Villar.

Insiders learned that Bambol, who served his three terms as mayor of Tagaytay City, after his brother now MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino, has no choice but to challenge  Remulla. Out-going Congressman of 7th District Boying Remulla is planning also to run for mayor in Tagaytay and face Bambol’s wife Agnes who is said to be running in the coming election as mayor.

Residents  said  the battle for politics in the up-land are the battle for the clan of Remulla and Tolentino. The Remullas is backed up by their formidable party Magdalo while Tolentino is  backed up by Congressman Ayong Maliksi who is also running for governor under the banner party of President Noynoy Aquino.

The Remullas has been dominating in the upper places of the province when Boying demolishes all his opponents signaling that the Remullas are still holding their loyal supporters and clans who benefited from the former governor Juanito ‘Johnny’ Remulla during his term.

The Tolentinos conquered the leadership of Tagaytay for almost two decades thus giving them the chance to retain it as they lead the city into model city and number one tourist spot of the country.
