MEYCAUAYAN CITY, Bulacan — City Mayor Joan Velasco-Alarilla, widow of the late-mayor Eduardo “Eddie” Alarilla, summed  up her State of the City Address: “It can be done in Meycauayan!”

The lady mayor over the weekend called on the new members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod to work hard  for the good of the city and support her 10-Point Agenda geared toward uplifting local  economy and better livelihood opportunities through honest and effective governance.

Alarilla said many had been achieved  but there is still more to be done to spur continuing growth in this booming industrial city known for its world class jewelry industry. She said the city government is also working hand-in-hand with the national government for the implementation of “One Bulacan Pride” or Program for Rapid Industrialization and Development (PRIDE). 

She told mediamen that she is enjoying her work and coping up with all the challenges as Chief Executive of the wealthiest city of Bulacan thru the support of her eldest son and Executive Assistant Manny Alarilla, who serves as her “little mayor”.
