Latest News Philippines: Marian, Dingdong having a spat? – Journal.com.ph:
IS it true Marian Riveera and Dingdong Dantes are having a spat as Marian got jealous after Dingdong reportedly shot a hot love scene with Angel Locsin in their filmfest entry “One More Try?” Dingdong even said he has long been wanting to work with Angel when she was still with GMA7 so their movie is a dream come true for him.
“Bakit naman ako magseselos, e alam kong trabaho lang yun?” Marian says. “We also all know may BF si Angel (Phil Younghusband), di ba? Dong and I are both busy taping our respective soaps, siya with ‘Pahiram ng Sandali’ at ako, with ‘Temptation of Wife’, kaya bihira kami magkita. But we will be together in our trip to Las Vegas to watch the fight of Kuya Manny Pacquiao with Marquez. Sa December 8 ang laban, but we’re leaving this December 6 (which is tomorrow) at December 12 na ang balik namin. Kaya panay ang advanced taping namin ngayon para hindi maubusan ng stock episodes ang aming mga programa na parehong maganda ang ratings.”
“Pagbalik namin dito, taping kami uli and we’ll advance more episodes kasi balak naming magbakasyon somewhere during the coming Christmas holidays,” says Dingdong. “We’ll tape until December 23 and hopefully, maging libre yung week between Christmas and New Year para makaalis naman kami kahit sandali lang. But we have no definite plans yet as to where we’ll go.”
CESAR STARTS COLORFUL MAYOR LIM’S BIOPIC
CESAR Montano has started filming “The Turning Cradle: The Untold Story of Alfredo Lim,” with him directing it and also playing the title role of current Manila Mayor Fred Lim. Kapamilya actress Denise Laurel gets to play the most demanding role of her career as Cesar’s leading lady. She plays Amalia Lim, the wife of Fred.
Cesar has assembled a great cast to support them: Tirso Cruz III as Major Zosimo Maravilla, Alwyn Uytingco as Fred’s buddy cop, Kristoffer King as his rival cop, Jeffrey Tam as an undercover agent, Marc Abaya and Noni Buencamino as heads of two syndicates, Krista Miller as Marita Zaragoza, Rommel Montano as the nephew of a police general, Richard Quan as Maj. Gameng, Alvin Anson as the head of a gang, Migs Cuaderno as the young Fred Lim, Gloria Romero and Spanky Manikan as Fred’s grandparents, Assunta de Rossi and Gina Pareno as young and older mom of Fred. The movie is titled “Turning Cradle” as Fred as a baby was given up for adoption and put at the Hospicio de San Jose’s turning cradle at the entrance where abandoned babies are left by their moms.
“Fred’s father died when he was only a few months old and his mom wants to remarry and relocate in Baguio so she left him at the Hospicio,” explains Cesar. “Para talagang movie ang buhay ni Mayor Lim kasi may heavy drama, plenty of action, comedy, romance and even a bit of sex. It’s scheduled to be shown in February 2013.”
ANOTHER SOCIALLY RELEVANT FILM
AFTER winning best actor in the Cinemalaya Filmfest last July for the movie “Oros,” Kristoffer King stars in another socially relevant film in the Metro-Manila Filmfest New Wave Section, “Ad Ignorantiam,” directed by Bing Lao. The title refers to a reasoning fallacy that says a proposition is true simply because it has not been proven false. It’s based on true story of a bank messenger accused of snatching the gold necklace of a university professor in the busy Philcoa intersection on Commonwealth Ave. The victim and her friend file a robbery case against the accused. The lengthy court trial traces the events from the snatching of the necklace, the chase between the accused and the victim’s friend, their confrontation, the summoning of the police and arrest of the snatcher who denies the accusation. Unable to prove his innocence, he is found guilty by the Regional Trial Court and sentenced to jail for four years.
The defense elevates the case to the Supreme Court for review. The film is a critical look at the Philippine justice system. Aside from Kristoffer as the snatcher and Ina Feleo as the victim, it stars Allan Paule as the defense lawyer, Raquel Villavicencio as the prosecutor, Archie Adamos as the RTC judge, Laurice Guillen as the Supreme Court Justice, plus Mercedes Cabral, Kimmy Maclang and Alex Tiglao. This is produced by Atty. Joji Alonso of Quantum Films.
BELO IS WORLD’S NUMBER ONE
DR. Vicki Belo revealed she has so much to be thankful for as her Belo Medical Group is number one worldwide for Thermage, Botox and Fraxel procedures. They even got the Platinum Award for Botox as they’ve been number one for 10 years now.
“We’re thankful dahil ang daming ibang clinics na nagbukas and yet mas marami pa ring nagpupunta sa’min to make us number one,” she says.
Among the newest stars who consult her are Piolo Pascual for removal of acne scars through Fraxel, Rhian Ramos for hair-free skin by Laser Hair Removal and Co-splay Queen Alodia Gosiengfiao for a pimple-free face.
As for Cristalle Belo, she admits that she has parted ways with her Azkal BF, Jason Sabio. “He has to return to his studies in the U.S.,” she says. “He’s taking up law in Alabama, one year na lang, and I felt I don’t want a long distance relationship kasi touchy feely ako na gusto, nakakatabi kong mahal ko. But we parted as friends. Kung tapos na siya and we’re still both single, then baka we’re meant for each other talaga. As of now, I just live the moment and I wish him the best.”
